Overview
This FAQ explains how to order a gPro 3D model or gSquare estimate if you encounter errors during building selection. After searching for your building’s address, you'll be prompted to confirm it by selecting the yellow-orange footprint. While errors are rare, they may occur in rural areas with sparse buildings or in dense urban settings with rowhouses, townhomes, or multifamily structures.

What if my building's footprint is oversized?
Upon selecting the footprint for 28 West 129th, we notice that the highlighted footprint covers the entirety of 26 West 129th as well—we do not want both these structures modeled.
Solution: Select the footprint that captures your building. In the Additional Information page, enter the following in the Notes for production box: Oversized footprint, please model the following address: [your building’s address].
Note: If the building you want modeled doesn't have an address (e.g., a shed, barn, or detached garage), use the Notes for Production space to describe its location using reference points from your footprint map. If you're unsure how to describe it, submit a support ticket with the category of Order Issue, and our Customer Success Team will ensure we model the correct building.
What if my building is missing a selectable footprint?
Upon searching for the footprint of 114 Windstone Dr., we notice that no footprint captures the desired structure.
Solution: Select the closest available footprint (panning-out on your footprints map if necessary). In the Additional Information page, enter the following in the Notes for production box: No footprint available, please model the following address: [your building’s address].
Note: if a missing footprint is preventing you from including multiple buildings within the same order, submit a Support ticket with the category of Order Issue and our Customer Success team will contact you soon to find a solution.
What if my building's footprint is undersized or misshapen?
Upon searching for the footprint of 200 E 5th Ave., we notice that the footprint does not cover the entirety of the building.
Solution: Select the footprint as normal, rest assured the entire building will be modeled. The Geospan Modeling Team utilizes footprints for building selection-purposes only and does not consider the shape or size of the footprint in this task.
How do I select multiple footprints from vastly different areas?
You can pan and scroll through the footprints map to find buildings for your order, but Geospan recommends submitting multiple orders for buildings in different neighborhoods, municipalities, etc.

My API does not support the ability to include clarifying notes, how do I ensure the correct building is modeled?
If your building cannot be clearly defined because of a missing or oversized footprint, submit a Support ticket with the category of Order Issue and our Customer Success team will contact you soon to find a solution.

What if my building is missing a selectable footprint?
Geospan cannot fulfill your gSquare estimate without a footprint. Submit a Support ticket with the category of Order Issue and our Customer Success team will contact you soon to find a solution.
What if my building's footprint is oversized?
While the footprint does not need to match the building perfectly, when the footprint covers multiple distinct buildings (as shown above), Geospan cannot guarantee your gSquare estimate’s accuracy.
